LBP 2 Servers?

Post by kasawaki » January 20th, 2011, 6:24 pm

Anyone else having problems with the servers?

I'm hoping it's just cos it's not launch day and the servers aren't running at full capability or something.

Me n sab today had a lot of problems connecting, both in levels and in the pod.

It shows you a blue loading bar, which goes from 3/4 to full then back again keeps repeating that.

Sometimes in level we can talk, but not see each other, then when I leave to go to the pod, the other person appears just as you leave!

I seem to remember a lot of that when lbp launched too but it seemed to sort itself out within a few days ..your probably right about severs and not being launch day yet

It's been "better" today, not quite so many loading issues, even managed to get some online with Sab and Nicki

Debs saw this on the official forums: If you get the never ending loading bar when online, switch off your controller (hold down PS button until it shows the option to turn off controller). When the level loads it will say press PS button to continue and hopefully you should drop into the level/pod.

Thanks Shaky, Sab had passed that on after learning it from you and Debs :) it definitely works, just a shame it hadn't been playtested a little better :(

Any update on LBP2's online stability?
Basically wondering if things have been sorted or is it worth waiting another week before jumping in?

silver and I played yesterday. No issues connecting (despite the fact he lives a million trillion light years away!) I think it was a little laggy for him, but fine for us this end. I was expecting way worse TBH. I have played several levels with online randoms. Sometimes there is quite bad lag and othertimes it seems fine. It is worth getting and playing JUST for the story mode. Brilliant barely describes it
I figure once I have played through the complete story, aced all the levels, collected every prize bubble and designed and built a working LBP2 level ...the online gameplay may have settled down.
Jump in now Prosp! Its ohhhh so worth it :excited:

Servers definately seem to be settling down, not too many loading screens last night, hardly noticed any infact. Though there was only 2 of us...

Thanks for the feedback guys! No loading screens would be a nice change plus that's great to hear the single player's worthwhile. Loved the 1st, but after trying LBP2's demo, I was worried it'd just be more of the same.

(FYI my pocketbook hates you both)

yep no probs at all playing with cazzy last night in fact the only bit of occasional lag I had was far less than previously experienced in lbp1
and prevously playing with red and shaky i didnt have any probs either ..

compaerd to lbp to it is more of the same but with much more as well for example you get grab lines cake guns grenade launches and more + loads of new create options and thats just what I've noticed in just a few hours of play and you can still play all of the lbp1 created levels too
I say go buy

Cake Gun? SWEET! LoL

Odd. I was editing my above comment, but then it wouldn't post.
Either way, Cazzy & Peet for helping me spend my money I helped you spend your florums on RedBaron's Bday.
Thank you :)

I suspect that silver posted just as you finished editing Prosp, so it might not have wanted to accept the changes. Except i could be wrong.
Probably best not to listen to me really, eh? :biglol:

It all seems "tickety-boo". The loading screen no longer hangs- just flashes up briefly.

bloaps LMFAO

I just want to thank you all for the game recommendation and server reviews.
We played a few levels last night and had a random join us, everything was silky smooth.
We had 3 locals with only the one online sackthing, but no online hiccups or lag at all.

No buyer's remorse from me (though it was almost free after 2 trade-ins :raspy:).

I was just worried that it would go the way of Black Ops at the begining, well done to MM for a cracking game and sorting out the server issues quite quickly.
