LBP headset chat issues

Post by cazzyj » May 19th, 2009, 12:33 am

Im having problems using headset with LBP. I have logitech cordless vantage headset that has been paired with ps3. It works v well in burnout and on home but no-one can hear me when i use it in LBP. Mum and i were playing last night and i couldnt hear her either.

Do you have to hold down ps3 buton before speaking? Is there something i can try to get it working. I have pressed the select button while in the game and it works ok under the chat options there ... (i can hear myself and the indicator bars light up)

lol Bob.
I think its game and connection related, Cazzy. I've recently had occasional problems hearing Red when there's more than 2 of us in the game- her sentences are cut off or go very quiet half way through, but when there's just 2 of us its fine. You don't need to press anything to speak its all automatic. Sometimes resetting the game and rejoining can fix it.
This also occasionally happens to me in Burnout- if someone leaves the game I can't hear anyone but they can hear me. Leaving and rejoining fixes this as well.

Thanks Shaky! I will try leaving and coming back. I know aussie broadband is pretty lame compared with rest of the world so that maybe contributing... also had a though that i may try vol up louder .. few other places mention chat is really quiet in LBP!

Tried the chat again today and it worked well ... dont know why it didnt the other 2 times ... lol. Maybe it has to do with server load because there were less ppl on today when mum and i played ... Europe sleeping :rolleyes2:

So, Cazz and I tested this and it worked fine from my end. There were times it was breaking up, but then again, it's probably my silly inferior headset.

It was a right laugh! KJ and I were in hysterics.

I must say that I should never be given a headset on LBP. Or on any game really. I shriek like a girl whenever I die. I'm still working on Sackgirl's long jumps!

well, the only thing i can tell, is that...
When in the pod, you on Media Molecules' servers, but as soon as you traverse into a level, you're using P2P, which means you and the other players are directly connected, which may sometimes result in faster connection.... and sometimes slower.. so if the voice chat doesn't work in the pod, just to test, try going into a level and hear if the voice-chat works there :D
