Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

Post by sanmartinez » 10 Jan 2012, 12:44

Been waiting to play a good Transformers game for ages. And after seeing/reading more about this upcoming game I must say I am pretty hyped for this one. The appearance of Dinobots have made this a must buy for me!
Anyone else on the lookout for this game?
(And if you have it, up to play a couple games of War for Cybertron while we wait for this?)

Did you play either of the previous games (based upon the film franchises)?

I heard that the first one was pretty awful, but i played the second one & it was ok. But that's all it was though, just ok.

Did you play either of these? If so, how does War of Cybertron stack up (i think Fall of Cybertron is a follow on by the same company, so should hopefuly be a natural evolution)?

you are absolutely right, Forrest, in assuming the first one was completely pants.

Happy to be able to confirm the second one (War of the Cybertrons) was a far more pleasant experience. Handling was better, story was more straight forward and the graphics were much better. So, considering Fall of Cybertron is more of an sequel to the second one, it might be save to assume this 3rd installment will be a pleasant experience too.

But then, i have seen sequels go pears shaped before so it is not a guarantee i guess....

(there's the pear shaped thing again, must do something about this)
do not take me too seriously, i know i don't....

Played the first two movie ones, they are horrible would not recommend them to anyone. Looking forward to these. Might get War of Cyberton first so I can play it in order

I havent played any of the movie games (never do that as I know I will be dissappointed) but did play through War for Cybertron and did enjoy it. Its not the best looking/playing game around, but the best Transformers one out now

If you do get it we can play that while waiting for Fall of Cybertron

Very wise decision on the movie-tie ins, but i can confirm that the odd good one does actually exist - Captain America was pretty good (if a touch on the simplistic side sometimes), apparently Cars 2 is a decent enough racer & i really enjoyed Wanted (even though it was not technically a movie-tie in). Quantum of Solace was actually not too bad either.

I am sure that there are others, but i am drawing a bit of a blank at the mo.

You are generally right though, most movie tie-in games generally suck. Hard.

I do need to work on clearing some of the backlog at the moment, but as Fall of Cybertron isn't out until Autumn of this year, i might pickup War For Cybertron at some point (time/money depending of course).
